Across Metro Vancouver, the outpouring of support continues for earthquake relief efforts in Japan.

A silent auction is planned next week that will feature items donated by local artists, according to the B.C.-Japan Earthquake Relief Fund, a grassroots group formed in response to the disaster.

The fundraising auction takes place May 5 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 205-1540 West 2nd Avenue in Vancouver.

The B.C.-Japan Earthquake Relief Fund is also holding a fundraising raffle with ticket sales running until June 10.

Among the prizes are air travel and accommodations for two to Las Vegas, a Macbook Air computer, and a stay for one night at the Listel Hotel in Whistler.

Tickets can be purchased at the Japanese Community Volunteers Association (Tonari Gumi) location at 511 East Broadway in Vancouver.

Funds raised by the B.C.-Japan Earthquake Relief Fund have been going to the Canadian Red Cross and Japanese Red Cross.
