Justin Howard, a.k.a. Nordic Thunder, wins world air guitar championships

All Justin "Nordic Thunder" Howard needs is an instrument.

"Pain is temporary, air guitar is forever."

So said Justin "Nordic Thunder" Howard after his barefoot performance brought on some blood at the Air Guitar World Championships in Finland.

Howard won the 2012 competition, beating fellow American Matt "Airistotle" Burns by more than two points.


Nordic Thunder wows the crowd.

Anyone who hasn't seen it is directed to the delightful feature documentary Air Guitar Nation, about the first year Americans competed in said championships (2003), and following the rivalry between the American champ (Korean-American actor David "C. Diddy" Jung) and a diehard runner up, Bjorn Turoque. From the film:
