Kenny Loggins has a problem with the new “Footloose”
Oh, this is rich. Kenny Loggins told reporters on Monday that he thinks Blake Shelton’s cover of “Footloose” is okay, but they “went a little bit crazy with the Pro Tools.”
Well, sure. Welcome to 2011, Kenny. More to the point, it’s not like the original was the pinnacle of warm, roomy production or anything. It’s a bit like Joan Rivers complaining that George Hamilton’s had too many facelifts, but whatever.
Perhaps more notable is Loggins’ continued refusal to acknowledge that his biggest hit was actually a rip-off of the James Gang’s “Funk #49”.
