Lana Del Rey trades singing career for modelling

Lana Del Rey isn’t doing too much singing these days. After releasing her album Born to Die in January, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter—born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant—has been spending most of her time working her signature lip pout into a modelling career instead.

Earlier this month, photos from Swedish clothing retailer H&M’s fall 2012 campaign featuring Del Rey were released. Today (August 22) Jaguar announced that Del Rey will be the face of the British luxury car manufacturer’s new line of F-Type sports cars.

“Singer songwriter, Lana Del Rey will collaborate with Jaguar on the launch of the all-new F-Type, a two-seater sports car that is a vivid representation of the vitality of the Jaguar brand,” Adrian Hallmark, the Global Brand Director of Jaguar, stated in a news release. “The allure of Jaguar is in large part due to its duality—a unique blend of authenticity and modernity, two values that we believe are shared with Lana in her professional achievements.”

Del Rey will help unveil the new car in Paris in September.
