London, England shines spotlight on Vancouver's Stan Douglas
Renowned Vancouver photographic artist Stan Douglas is being spotlighted in a special solo exhibition, running April 18 to May 26, at the Victoria Miro gallery in London, England, one of the largest commercial galleries in the city.
The show, called Midcentury Studio, is a collection of large-scale, staged monochromatic photographs presented under the fictional premise of being shot between 1945 and 1951 by an anonymous photographer in Vancouver.
Subjects range from apparent mobsters and hockey brawlers to housewives and cricketers. A slideshow of some of the images can be seen here.
