Master Yoda fights homophobic boycott of Star Wars: The Old Republic

More than 39,000 people have signed an online petition penned in the name of Yoda, the Jedi master, in support of the gay love story in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

AllOut.org, the LGBT rights group behind the petition, says video-game giant Electronic Arts has been receiving a slew of anti-gay letters calling for a boycott of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game, developed by BioWare.

In the petition, Yoda writes:

Sending you a message of support against the dark homophobic forces, I am.

Stay strong in this time of difficulty, you must. Like Master Yoda says "A Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they."

Thanking you for standing up against the anti-gay boycott campaign, I am. May the force be with you.

If the petition hits 50,000 signatures, All Out promises to send members dressed up as Star Wars characters to EA headquarters to deliver the letters of support.

EA has also reportedly been targeted over the inclusion of same-sex relationships in Mass Effect 3.

Awesome. For the dozens of relationships shown in both games, I'm fairly sure there are only one or two sam sex relationships, about equal to or less than there are in the real world.
