Mick Jagger sings about zombies and exploding heads on new Rolling Stones tune

The Rolling Stones released their first new song in seven years, "Doom and Gloom", today. It's okay, but it's not gonna knock "Little T&A" off the top of my personal Stones chart.

For one thing, Keef's main riff is a tad too much like ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man". And what happened to Charlie's famous trash-can drumming? Longtime Stones producer Don Was went a little overboard with the knob-twiddling this time around, I reckon.

Horror fans may be interested to know that the new tune includes mentions of zombies in the opening verse: "I had a dream last night I was piloting a plane, and all the passengers were drunk and insane/I crash landed in a Louisiana swamp, shot up a horde of zombies but I come out on top."

Later on Jagger mentions an exploding head. Maybe he's been pulling off all-night Walking Dead marathons or somethin'.

Though not bad for a bunch of old fucks, it doesn't hold a candle to this:

It's okay, but it's at least a minute too long. Or maybe my attention span is just getting really short.

yep, I agree. The producer should have been wearing his editor's cap, but Was wasn't. Or maybe, hoping to keep his cheeks, he avoided asking the Keef zombie to tighten it up a bit.

Please hang it up Mick and co. It's not as though you need the money. It just looks ridiculous.

That is definitely NOT Charlie Watts playing drums...Don Was needs a good beating for this one...
