Modern Masters Medley series brings free movies to the VPL
Starting tomorrow (June 7), the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch (350 W. Georgia) will be hosting the Modern Masters Medley series, three film screenings held in conjunction with the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Collecting Matisse and Modern Masters: The Cone Sisters of Baltimore exhibition.
Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (June 7) tells the story of a young couple who must confront their different views of life on a family-business trip to Paris. Neil Jordan’s The Good Thief (July 5) follows an aging gambler as he attempts to rob a French casino. Vincente Minnelli and George Cukor’s Lust for Life (August 2) explores the tortured life of famous French painter Vincent van Gogh.

Films are shown in the Alice MacKay Room at 6:30 pm. Admission is free. For more info, check out the library’s website.
