The Motown Tribute to Nickelback makes its debut at LIVE at Squamish

Save for the Kroeg's solo spot "Hero" (I know...I know), Nickelback is audio poison for me, but somehow the Motown Tribute to Nickelback has made the B.C. boys a little more palatable.

The best part was that it was delivered somewhat sincerely. If it were all shit-grinning irony, the act would have been better off staying at home (the troupe flew out from New York to play it's very first show), but there was some care put into simmering Jazzhole takes on "Photograph" and "Far Away".

Tambourine-playing hype man Tim Kubart punched up the already bizarrely entertaining performance with some goofball dance moves, and unwittingly referenced the local cock rockers when he sported a penisy pair of sunglasses a fan handed to him.

Gregory Adams is filing items of interest and reviews from the LIVE at Squamish festival this weekend.
