Need an event venue? Little Mountain Gallery has August and September openings

Putting on events in this city isn’t cheap, and it isn’t easy—unless you happen to have a one-act play or enough art for a show all ready to go, along with $150 in cold hard cash.
Mount Pleasant’s Little Mountain Gallery (195 East 26th Avenue) has a spattering of days open in August and September for local artistic types to show off their goods. You’ll get the multi-use facility for the entire day to put on your interpretive dance, multimedia show using found super-8 reels with an '80s Saturday morning cartoon soundtrack, or whatever you kids are into these days.
It costs $60 in advance to hold the space, with the other $90 to be paid the day after the event.
Little Mountain Gallery re-opened its doors as an all-ages venue this past June, after it was forced to shut down for a year and a half due to insufficient permits. Now it can hold 59 people at a time.
Recent events include Animatron 2012, a one-night local animation film fest, and Holee Shed, a bi-weekly Sunday afternoon live music show.
