Nerd-culture fest LeetUP to launch U.S. tour in Seattle

Come September 20, it’ll be time to get nerdy with host Kevin Pereira at the Neptune. That’s because nerd-culture fest LeetUP will be kicking off its “Awesomesauce. Live!” 2012 Tour at the Seattle venue at 8 pm.

As one might expect with an event announced at Comic-Con 2012, LeetUP will feature a hotbed of live action, audience games, live podcasting, and conversations with geeky celebs and internet stars like Epic Meal Time, Zack Pearlman, and Ask a Ninja. At points throughout the evening, select guests will be pulled on stage to compete for prizes. Other LeetUP highlights include technology demos, an old-school video-game arcade, photo playsets, geeky art stations, giveaways, and cosplay.

In a press release, LeetUP cocreator and host Kevin Pereira said that “we wanted to celebrate all that is nerd—a profound love for the internet, podcasting, tech, music, videogames—and remix them in a way that makes us social again. We’ve basically designed an entire playground for the discerning nerd that will constantly evolve.”
