Wow! That's TWO superstars I wouldn't pay good money to see on ONE stage at the SAME time! Maybe we could add Prince, Axl, Madonna, and (token Canadian) Bryan Adams, then offer $5 tickets so we could be filmed in the audience cheering, like Metallica did!

      ...I still wouldn't go...!

      Hmmm

Oh, come on. I'd be more inclined to see a show of Paul McCartney's paintings than his music. http://www.paulmccartney.com/arts

...And Bruce Springsteen is a demagogue all the way through. He's GOOD at faking it - he's not untalented as a songwriter - but it doesn't make him sincere, and on some level, his Woody Guthrie pretentious are actually kind of OFFENSIVE, given his ticket prices, ain't they? Go read Richard Meltzer's essay "One Commie Wrong About Bruce" (in A WHORE JUST LIKE THE REST, which title, by the by, is Meltzer referring to himself, not Springsteen). The Boss should be sentenced to spend the rest of his life touring for no recompense, playing only for low-income families, to atone for his years of hypocrisy - either that, or he should run for President of the United States. He would make a GREAT candidate for the Democrats...

But seriously: do not feed the troll on this one, folks. I've got other stuff to do this weekend.

By the way, since I'm clearly seeking negative attention on this one, I just took the time to disagree with myself on both of my comments above. Eat your heart out, Michael Mann!

Paul McCartney no longer has a voice. He should spend his time mentoring promising young musicians and spending his vast wealth improving the lot of humankind.

I have to say, if it was me I would have definately run the Exhuming Arafat's corpse to check for plutonium poisoning ahead of the McCartney/Springsteen thing.
