No Joe? G.I Joe: Retaliation postponed until 2013
A bit of heartbreak for Joe fans.
With only about a month left to go before G.I. Joe: Retaliation was set to hit theatres on June 29, 2012, Paramount Pictures has announced that the release of the blockbuster will be postponed until March 29, 2013.
Why? That's the question on everyone's minds.
According to reports, the delay is due to the film being converted into 3D. Director John Chu, who previously directed 3D features such as Step Up 3D and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, reportedly only shot the film in 2D on super-35 film.
That explanation, however, hasn't stopped observers from speculating that there are other reasons, from the powerhouse performance of The Avengers sinking Battleship to efforts to increase its foreign box office profile, for the late rescheduling.
The sequel to The Rise of Cobra (and its related trousersnake jokes) stars Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, and Dwayne Johnson.
