North Vancouver's Filip Peliwo to play for Junior Wimbledon title
Filip Peliwo has to be hoping the third time is the charm. After reaching the final at both the Junior Australian Open and Junior French Open earlier this year only to finish runner-up, the 18-year-old has another shot to claim his first junior Grand Slam tennis championship.
Peliwo fought off five match points and rallied from 2-5 in the second set to defeat American Mitchell Kreuger 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to Sunday's (July 8) title match.
The North Shore Winter Club product will now take on top-seed Luke Saville of Australia in a rematch of their January showdown at the Aussie Open.
Quebec's Eugenie Bouchard will play for the Junior girls championship giving Canada two chances at this country's first Grand Slam singles title of any kind.
