Norway rat colony breaks Alberta's streak

Alberta has claimed to be largely rat-free for decades, but that changed earlier this month when 19 large rodents were discovered and killed in Medicine Hat.

CJCY FM has reported that the Norway rats were in various locations.

Greater Vancouver residents are familiar with the giant Norway rats, which weigh about a pound and stretch up to about eight inches in length.

They often hang around the ground floor of buildings.

you think thats big? a person a couple doors down from me had a rat the size of a cat, no joke. it had been in my ceiling (townhouses - shared walls) and I heard it running around. It sounded like a raccoon it was so large.

Sorry to burst everyones bubbles, but Alberta's rat problem started years ago, they've only just migrated to Medicine Hat, they were here in Calgary for over 3 years now. Alberta just had to have more to believe they had a problem.
