Okay so Shit Girls Say is totally a web series now: Is it SHUT. UP.? Or like ew?
Applying the approach of Shit My Dad Says to observations about how the fairer sex talks, Toronto comedy duo Kyle Humphrey and Greydon Sheppard are also making the leap from a Twitter account to video.
The first webisode in the web series of the Twitter phenomenon Shit Girls Say has been making the rounds on the internet.
Sheppard appears in drag (a throwback to Kids in the Hall perhaps?) and delivers bon mots uttered by girls (well, some girls) that many a boyfriend, husband, or even a girlfriend will recognize.
Even Juliette Lewis makes a cameo.
But the video version offers far more than what tweets can convey with visuals like digging through a purse, compulsively ramming your mouth full of potato chips, or pointing at a cellphone and mouthing words silently to others while someone is on the line. Or screaming hysterically upon meeting a friend.
Are you like near a computer? If so, you can watch the video below and see what you think.
Oh sorry, I meant, can you do me a favour and watch this and see if it makes any sense?
So do you find it cute and amusing and endearing and true to life? Do you identify with it? Or do you feel insulted and offended?
Well, we can always wait for Shit Guys Say. But then again, it wouldn’t be as amusing. It’d just be like ew.
(By the way, it’s rather apropos that Shit Girls Say is performed by a guy in drag as most of the dialogue works as Shit Gays Say too. Except for "Do I look like a doily?” I am not even joking right now.)
