Olympic stars Sophie Schmidt and Emily Zurrer will open City Chase at Vancouver Art Gallery

There's still time for last-minute registrations to the Mitsubishi Motors City Chase urban-adventure race, which takes place on Saturday (August 25) in Vancouver.

Two-person teams have to run, walk, and use public transit to navigate around town to collect chase points. In this part obstacle course and part scavenger hunt, competitors are allowed to call people or ask strangers for help and even use the Internet.

Bronze-medal-winning Canadian Olympic soccer players Sophie Schmidt and Emily Zurrer will be on hand to start the chase at 10 a.m. at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Later on, they'll be part of the point system, though the organizers are not giving any clues what that may involve.

City Chase is not your usual run through the streets of Vancouver.

The whole affair takes six hours and is a precursor to the national championships, which take place September 28 to 30 in Whitehorse.

You can register here.
