PETA releases turkey-killing game for Thanksgiving
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has released its take on the popular video-game series Cooking Mama.
Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals is a Flash-based game in which players take on the role of Mama as she proceeds to prepare a turkey for Thanksgiving.
While the game shares the same animated look of the Cooking Mama games, the PETA version packed with blood and gore.
Tasks include plucking the feathers from a still-living bird, removing the bird’s organs, and sawing the head off of the body.
After you’ve completed a level, the player is told animal-abuse facts. For example, millions of turkeys are scalded to death in tanks of boiling water.
With Thanksgiving in the U.S. just around the corner, PETA hopes to raise awareness of the treatment of turkeys in slaughterhouses.
