A Vancouver police cruiser parked on Granville Street this morning (June 17) has been covered in Post-it notes expressing gratitude for the work of officers following the downtown Stanley Cup rioting.

The police vehicle sits across the street from the boarded-up windows of the Bay, which has become an impromptu wall of messages scrawled by those upset by the vandalism and chaos.

That is awesome!! I *heart* Vancouver. For every dumb, easily swayed, thoughtless person out there, we have 10 (totally made up #) amazing, thoughtful people who aren't afraid to show they care.

Thanks for what? Police Act obligations to enforce laws and prevent crime were ignored wholesale as cops stood by barriers, with no purpose other than to collect overtime for nothing.

Don't blame the rank and file cops for the shortcomings of their superiors, city politicians and of course the useless bozo's in Victoria. These men and women stood there as targets, while a mob of animals threw urine,feces,bottles, rocks, etc. at them. You must be an idiot if you think this is overtime for nothing. I'd like to know what you do for a living? Do you risk your life for strangers? Doubtful! They should be commended for saving what they did, and showing the restraint of a saint! Blame the morons who caused and participated in the riot! And in the coming months blame the politicians for a justice system that will slap these jerks on the wrist.

As a former Vancouverite who experienced the 1994 riots while living in the West End, it's sad to see that the trash who caused the riots the first time around have procreated. Once again, Vancouver's name has been smeared...the moronic losers who have decimated this beautiful city should be locked up...or better yet, sterilized. Perhaps this way, if the Canucks make it this close again to attaining the Stanley Cup in what?... let's say another 20 years?...all those losers' potentially putrid offspring won't be around to participate in this type of debaucle. Wishful thinking.

Ask youself first, "was I at the riot", then "what did I do while being there" then "did I add to the riot fever by just being there taking photos" and lastly " are did photos I took of people posing at smashed looted stores and burning vehicles fuel their need to continue"

If you were not there trying to stop the riot, you have no standing to coment on the the riot or any part of it. You may feel the need to crucify people with you 20/20 hind sight in social media but why dont you start something good like supporting the victim stores or innocent victim people who lost vehicles.

We need to help not hinder. We need to be Canadian not online media anarchists. Lets move on, fix the damage, commend those who are doing so, high light them in the media, shun those who took part in the riot, don't give them the media outlet to stand up and appologize and the think they are free and clear.

Lets work together and build our city.
