Bi-annual fashion and lifestyle tradeshow KNOWSHOW took place on August 9 to 11 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. I attended the final day of the show and had the chance to preview some up-and-coming brands and new, spring-summer 2013 collections by established labels.

This year, Vancouver-based vintage dealers F as in Frank were on hand with a new in-house line called Snap. The collection features re-worked and upcycled vintage pieces in a range of sizes, including tank-tops and backpacks. Another local company, Herschel Supply Co., were also at KNOWSHOW with new products: bird-patterned canvas backpacks and duffle bags and quality small leather goods.

AWSM, a skate and snowboard lifestyle brand by Norwegian professional snowboarders Torstein Horgmo and Andreas Wiig, was a new addition to the show, as was three-month-old Saskatchewan-based brand Farmfresh, which specializes in leather duffle bags and briefcase-style bags as well as eyewear.
