Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson spun a DJ set at the Biltmore Cabaret on Saturday night (December 17).

The club night Glory Days was celebrating its third anniversary.

A cheap ploy, no matter how warm and kind you are to the crowd, if this is meant to get votes (?) it has nothing to do with political substance at all, it is just tacky

@Cian Williams: ease up buddy. Gregor deserves some of the credit for re-invigorating the creativity of the city of Vancouver. A lot of young people are getting involved in the political process in Vancouver, and this has a lot to do with how in touch Gregor is with young voters.

Ironically, the Biltmore will probably get shut down, a, because Gregor approved the construction of a massive condo development right across the street!

Aren't these the same people that complain about their venues being shut down and Vancouver becoming a "No Fun City"? Don't they realize the Mayor and VV are part of the shift to Granville as arts centre, they get huge donations from Donelly pub group, and the shut down of cheap rental art spaces in the DTES like Red Gate?

If he had no party they'd be questioning his seriousness as a Candidate or Mayor by now. Just over this. Not the Village. Hahahha, Olympic Village Idiot.

How many of his constituents are this crowd, and in touch has something to do with policy. Not ploys. Young voters, the ones who show, tend to be jaded to cynical about these things. Usually the night club crowd are packed with cash and don't care and wouldn't know who he was if he served cocktails. He might be in touch with the "daddy's got money" crowd. Funny my first Party thing was at the Biltmore avoiding being the President of the Vancouver-Burrard Reform BC President (RefBC Luncheon). Ironically, I still did the duty in 1996.

Jordan "Arsonist" Lopehandia: how much they pay you, man? Sign up a lot of kids to hold Vision memberships, throw a party. BFD.

See last few comments about developers. I would loved to have quizzed some of the people in that room on the depth of their knowledge.

But, too many taking "fishface" photos. Nice 'White Man's Overbit'e in that first photo, btw, Mr. Mayor!

Let's get real. This is what cheap politicians do. While the city has a $52,000,000 shortfall the mayor plays at the Biltmore with a bunch of silly out of touch, kids.
While thousands live in poverty and 100s sleep in these dirty shelters, while thousands cannot afford to live here, while taxes go up, while gangs are on the rise, wile violence against women is out of control, while human trafficking is on the rise, while the food bank use is the highest in Canada,while the Little Mountain site sits untouched, while his developer friends ruin this city, while this city's serious problems get worse this man does publicity stunts. Getback to work Gregor and I do not mean strike more study groups and task forces. I mean get busy solving problems now. Problem solving and action is your job. Do it.

Does he get money put to the Olympic VIllage debt for this DJ gig? DJ WASP. I think he's trying to get the Dubgee Wigger NSV support.

If you don't like the city or people that manage it, go voice your concern at a counsel meeting at city hall or move on and discover something you like in a different city. it would be more productive than ranting on the GS comment boards across the site. grow a pair and do something about it
