The inaugural Naked Truth Adult Entertainment Awards took place on June 9 at the Rio Theatre (1660 E. Broadway) in Vancouver.

The event was slated as a sex-positive celebration of everyone involved in the adult entertainment industry, and celebrate they did. The Straight was there—for work purposes, of course—to capture the night and talk to the people who help make your sex life a lot more fun.

Aren't men in porn suppose to have some sexual expertise plus a big dick? If this is the case,"why was the guy from Flesh Gordon being honored exactly?"

He was being honoured for his hilarious take on the old film. His version is wonderfully kitschy...the awards were not just for pornography, they were for innovators, humor, sex advocates, dancers, sex workers and more. Check out nakedtruth.ca

I have seen the movie Flesh Gordon, not a fan. Your personal take on the film is extremely kind. Agreed, the writing may be campy, his one-dimensional acting played only a small part in the film's success. First time adult awards held in Canada, about time.

Did you see the original or his version?

Both. I did not like, Flesh Gordon 2 Meets The Cosmic Cheerleaders! Realize it was meant to be a sexual sequel plus comedic version/soft-core porn spoofing Flash Gordon, didn't work for me. Film lacked in taste, logic and acting skills. Sometimes those components are considered secondary in the success of certain adult films. Maybe it was 'Turd-Town' that threw me off or the fact it relied solely on bodily functions for most of it's humour!

I do admire your work/resume as a Performance Artist. Definitely inspirational to other men/woman in the adult entertainment industry!

Flesh II”¦bad movie, bad acting, bad mullet and bad special effects. Not surprised since they managed to make the whole movie without hiring a single actor. Even fleshy running around in a loincloth and tights couldn’t save it from getting dumped on. This is why you should never mix watching kickboxing workouts with porn.
