Photos: Vancouver G20 protesters burn Canadian flag, disrupt traffic

On Sunday (July 4), Vancouver protesters marched to show solidarity with the almost 1,000 people arrested during the G20 summit protests in Toronto, as well as with black bloc activists.

Along the way, protesters stopped to burn a Canadian flag, write chalk messages on the ground, disrupt traffic, and hear from speakers.

The protestors are protesting the actions of the Toronto Police Force and the Ontario Provincial Police by bashing Stephen Harper? They have truely shown that they have little intelligence. Before the protest it was the Ontario Liberal Cabinet Ministers who were on the news talking about the extra powers that the OPP was supposedly given.

If were a fascist state, the black bloc would have been shot on sight, especially for what they did to the flag. Don't like Canada, then get the F out!

What a pack of ungrateful idiots. How dare those stupid people burn our flag. I say pack him all up and ship them to the middle east to live under islamic law. They are already comfortable with the burka look. They are proof every cent of the billion dollars for security was well spent for the G-20

Why can't these idiots go and do something worthwhile with their lives... oh wait, that's too hard. To work hard, make money and live a good life! I wonder how many are on welfare? How is protesting, burning flags going to to prove anything? I think the black box retards should have been shot, killed, by the police! We don't need morons!

it is a shame that the scum at the protest were not detained and executed on the spot. the police should be allowed to use lethal force against those people.

If I were SFU students Brennen Smith and Alicia Tallack I'd be a bit worried about a clear photograph appearing alongside this story with my name in the caption. When they graduate, apply for positions, and attend interviews, they shouldn't be surprised if this material comes back at them, especially with Vancouver's base of very conservative employers.

People have been penalized in both public life and in everyday life for stuff they put in their facebook pages, such as a woman in Quebec whose disability payments were terminated when her photos showed her having fun at a bar.
