Public memorial for Jim Green this Saturday to feature musicians and speakers

This Saturday (April 14), the Orpheum Theatre will host a public memorial for the late Jim Green: former city councillor, DTES activist, opera lover, arts advocate, and porkpie-hat wearing muckraker.

Beginning at 1:30 p.m.--doors open at 12:30--a broad spectrum of musicians and speakers will pay tribute to Green, including DOA's Joey Shithead, Bughouse Five's Butch Murphy, Bob Rennie, Vancouver Opera's Jim Wright, Woodwards Community Singers' Vanessa Richards, MLA Jenny Kwan, and others.

The memorial will be MCed by Vancouver writer and community activist, Am Johal, and Vision Vancouver city councillor Geoff Meggs.

Green passed away February 28, after a long battle with cancer.
