Rihanna's dad greenlights Chris Brown reunion
In a bit of news that reconfirms one’s faith in mankind’s capacity for compassion and forgiveness, guess who’s welcome to attend Sunday dinner at Rihanna’s dad’s house? That right, none other than amateur pugilist Chris Brown.
In an interview with the U.K.-based Grazia magazine, Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, suggested he has no problem with his daughter rekindling a relationship with Brown. RiRi split from the R&B star in 2009 after he attacked her in a car, on the eve of the Grammy’s, as part of a domestic dispute, leaving her bloodied and bruised.
Describing Brown and Rihanna as a “perfect” match, Fenty said, “Chris has matured a lot. I think everybody has to put the past behind them. And they seem to have done that. Being a couple is all up to her.”
At the moment, an official reconciliation hasn’t happened, although the two have collaborated in the studio since Brown used Rihanna as his personal punching bag. Hopefully, Fenty keeps a referee’s whistle and boxing gloves with the Sunday silverware.
