Scare yourself silly at the Rio Theatre

In honour of Halloween, the Rio Theatre is holding a series of midnight screenings featuring campy and classic horror flicks.

The scare-and-laugh-your-pants-off films on offer include Child’s Play (October 7), Hellraiser (October 14), Beetlejuice (October 21), and a double bill of Halloween and The Thing (October 28).

And because I find the idea of a talking, evil, ginger-haired doll extra creepy (just like so many other children’s toys from the ‘80s), here’s a clip of Chucky attacking Seventh Heaven’s Catherine Hicks. Somehow, this is probably less painful than playing a sanctimonious housewife for 11 years.

Tickets for each single screening are $8 ($7 if you come in a ghoulishly creative costume), while tickets for the double bill on the 28th can be yours for $10. Find all the deets at the Rio Theatre.
