Six B.C. writers shortlisted for 2012 Governor General’s awards

      Six British Columbia writers have been shortlisted for the 2012 Governor General’s Literary Awards.

      The B.C. finalists include Wade Davis, shortlisted in the non-fiction award category for Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory, and the Conquest of Everest; Tamas Dobozy, in the fiction category for Siege 13; and Trina Davies in the drama category for The Romeo Initiative.

      They also include three writers shortlisted in the children’s literature category: Rachel Hartman for Seraphina; Susin Nielsen for The Reluctant Journal of Henry K. Larsen; and Judd Palmer for The Umbrella.

      All of the finalists for the $25,000 prizes, awarded for works in both English and French, were announced today (October 2).

      The awards are to be handed out during a ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on November 28.
