Sketchy Sluts squirt out sex comedy with new web series

From the self-identified “sluts” who brought you Shit Blowjobs Say comes a new web series.

Based out of Vancouver and Los Angeles, the Sketchy Sluts are comedians Andrea Landes, Alison Kowalchuk, Jennifer Zechmeister, and Tijana Popovic.

In their press release, the “all female slut comedy group” states: “Without fear of being judged, the Sketchy Sluts have created their own distinct brand of comedy that demands to be watched. It’s funny, sexy, and most of all, smart. Like a scantily clad high-class hooker on a lit-up street, you just can’t help but meet their gaze.”

Episode 1 of the Sketchy Sluts' campy web series debuted today (June 11). Five more episodes will apparently be “cumming” on Mondays.

Women ARE like men; they just don't get the chance to express that raunchy side of themselves because society says that even in comedy, women should be proper and feminine. It's 2012 people.

@ Free Speech. It is 2012. Correct. Does that mean that raunchy women have to be dull and come off as trying too hard because that's what this is. Except M.G's comment, no one here is saying that women shouldn't be raunchy. We'd simply love to see raunchy AND funny. When you self proclaim that this is a "distinct brand of comedy that demands to be watched" and describe your show as "funny, sexy and most of all, smart" - well, you'd better live up to it. Most people here commenting here apparently don't agree and that about sums it up.

Well that's just a matter of taste and opinion, which we could argue all day. I think these girls are fresh and funny and do live up to their claims, for the record. I think their humour is much less try-hard than say "Girls" or "2 Broke Girls" or "Whitney."

You go grrrrls!
All the greatest comedy and comedians' first works were a little rough.around the edges.
They work on it and it gets better and better as they find their legs.
You have a good start here ladies ,now you gotta find what works and build on it!

@ Free Speech...

"much less try-hard" is not exactly a redeeming quality.

This is not portraying powerful/sexual funny women - and I know that was not their intention (obviously) - but it should have been. The jokes are not smart nor are they remotely funny. I would be offended if it wasn't so incredibly stupid. This is not funny, this is disgusting behaviour that should not be celebrated. Why must we move backwards? Why is this ok?

"It’s funny, sexy, and most of all, smart." I would check your head before you write that statement. You can be funny, sexy and ACTUALLY smart without using the word slut. You shouldn't have to rely on hyper sexualized acts to get the laugh. Be smart about it, this is portraying women in the worst way and it is incredibly offensive.

This is the most 'try-hard' thing I have ever seen. Women sucking on dildos and shaking their tits? How do you call this smart? It's pathetic. I'm a woman in my twenties and my friends and I love sexual humor and being vulgar, but this is too much. The fact that something like this exists makes me embarrassed to be a woman. They clearly have no respect for themselves.

Last time I checked, being funny or smart had nothing to do with queefing...

@Harriet

Why should they "have to" stay away from using the word slut or commenting on sexualized acts? Because good proper women don't say "slut" or have sexual experiences? This comedy is liberating women.

@ Free Speech- Yay- "their humour is much less try-hard than say "Girls" or "2 Broke Girls" or "Whitney". All three of those shows are terrible and not funny. So, you're comparing this to terrible shows. Well done. How about Sarah Silverman for example. Female, check. Crude, check. Funny? Check. See how easy that is?

LIBERATING?! Thank you Dev, that made me laugh out loud. I'm not saying they should stay away from sexualized acts or the word slut - but this is over the top in not a good way. There are ways to be funny, smart and sexualized and this is FAR from it. This paints women in a bad light, a light we try to stay away from. They missed the mark - by a million miles.

Good point. They are a lot like Sarah Silverman. I hope they keep going with their comedy and become the next Sarah Silverman.
