Skrillex gets picked over by a bunch of adorable kids

If you are over the ripe old-age of, say, 24, chances are pretty good that you have no idea what Skrillex is. And, no, the answer isn’t some new power tool that you’ll find in the power tools section at Home Depot. Yes, Skrillex is for kids. (Not to mention dubstep, whatever the hell that is, besides something that Korn invented.) Given that reality, who better to review Skrillex than a bunch of, well, honest-to-God kids? Check out the below analysis where the bespectacled DJ gets dissected by budding music journalists who are barely out of their Huggies.

Should you feel bad about the fact that you have no idea who the world-famous electronic-music hotshot is, don’t feel bad because you aren’t alone. One of the clip’s many priceless moments comes 12 seconds in when the adorable girl on the couch with the yellow beads and orange headphones innocently asks “Skrillex? What the heck is that”? Oh, and don't forget to check out the part at 1:42 where they distribute a buch of little white pills right when they're talking about taking things to help you stay up all night. If you're going to start 'em, you might as well start 'em young.

Way to alienate the over 24 set Mike. Because us 30 plusers couldn't possibly know what the Skrillex is. Did you have to Wikipedia him in order to get the proper spelling?
Okay, well now that the video is done I'm going right back to my fucking Darius Rucker and Spin Doctors tapes. Much more recognizable.

I have been listening to Skrillex for the past several months, I'm over 50, not a raver, just a musician with a need to know what is happening out there=)

I didn't know he played the Pit Pub?! Interesting. I'm a little out of the loop as I often am in hospital getting my hip replaced. Either that or making shitty mix tapes for girls who wouldn't spit on me if i were on fire, let alone give me the time of day. But hey, anything to feel young again.

I like the bit when they're trying to decipher the words. For the record, they are: "Salsa on my balls, boys/Green brownies."

Hello Mike.
I think you are a fool if you truly believe Skrillex is for kids... Come on dude, this aint Trix. The fact is that i am 26 years old and I go to University. I started listening to Skrillex because a friend my age introduced me.
Those kids in the video are way too young to know who Skrillex is and you shouldn't demonize something you yourself dont understand or appreciate. So go write about something else... Jackass.

Skrillex isn't even dubstep. It is considered "Brostep" a horrible sub-genre of dubstep that seems to dominate the North American mainstream. True dubstep is a much more tasteful affair that originated from UK Garage music with such pioneers as Burial and Zomby. It's is truly unfortunate that ignorant music journalists continue misleading people and giving a tasteful, diverse and even beautiful genre such a bad name. Go listen to some Mount Kimbie. By the way I'm 28.
