Some Like It Hot comes to Fifth Avenue Cinemas
As part of its See Again series, Fifth Avenue Cinemas is hosting a fundraising screening of Some Like It Hot this Saturday (April 21) at 10 a.m.
The 1959 black-and-white comedy stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon in a story about two musicians (Curtis and Lemmon) who accidentally witness a mob hit and must flee the state disguised as women in an all-female band. However, complications ensue when the two friends both fall in love with vocalist-ukulele player Sugar Kane (Monroe), men become enamoured of their female personas, and the mobsters make another appearance.

Tickets for the screening are $8 at the door, with proceeds going to Seva Canada, a Vancouver-based charity that fights blindness and restores vision in Nepal, Tibet, India, Tanzania and eastern Africa, Guatemala, Cambodia, Egypt, Malawi, and Madagascar.
