Soundgarden brings the grunge to Vancouver this winter

Soundgarden's reunion gig at Rogers Arena last year was one of the top Vancouver hard-rock concerts of 2011, and the Seattle grunge pioneers have just announced a return to our fair city. But this time around they'll skip the hockey rink and treat their hardcore followers to a more intimate, soft-seater show.

The classic Soundgarden lineup of singer Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd, and drummer Matt Cameron will perform in the cozy confines of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Sunday, February 10. Tix go on sale Nov. 16 at 10 am at www.livenation.com.

The quartet will be performing tunes from its brand new album, King Animal, which--according to my esteemed colleague John Lucas--"sounds just like a Soundgarden record." Hey, that's good enough for me. Especially if that Soundgarden record is the one with "Outshined" on it.

Saw last show which was better than the few times I saw them in the late 80s and throughout the grunge run. Muse sucks balls

I have loved Soundgarden since the early 90's, but there's no way I'm paying $90 to see them this time around.
