Steve Jobs mourners create altar to consumerism at Apple Store in San Francisco
This kind of reminds me of that time shell-shocked Vancouverites covered a police cruiser with Post-it thank-you notes after Stanley Cup riot 2.0.
The above picture shows the Steve Jobs memorial that's sprung up outside the Apple Store in downtown San Francisco.
Mourners have essentially put up an altar to capitalist consumerism.
If you're as disturbed as I am by the bizarre public outpouring of grief in the wake of the Apple cofounder's death, Gawker ran a good piece on this spectacle.
The piece, well titled "Steve Jobs Was Not God", begins:
So, Steve Jobs is dead. A tech genius has passed on. Sad. Certainly a devastating loss to Steve Jobs' close friends and family members, as well as to Apple executives and shareholders. The rest of you? Calm down.
