The Straight Series presents Sia at the Commodore

The Georgia Straight is on a mission to bring you some of the best emerging artists out there, and as part of the Straight Series, we're excited to present Aussie native Sia on August 19 at the Commodore Ballroom.

The singer-songwriter is known for her slow and sultry sound, lending it to collaborations and performances with Beck, Massive Attack, Zero 7, and Christina Aguilera, to name a few. Her songs have been picked up for television and film and featured on everything from Six Feet Under to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Sia has said that her latest album, We Are Born, is the one she’s wanted to make since 2006’s Colour the Small One. Unlike her moody earlier work, Sia's latest creation is a quirky and colourful, upbeat pop-piece.

Tickets for Sia are priced at $26.50 (plus service fees) and go on sale this Friday (May 6) at 10 a.m. at Live Nation but Straight.com readers can take advantage of our presale, which takes place this Thursday (May 5), from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., by using the password "weareborn".
