Tattoos can be a very personal thing

If I see a tattoo that I don't understand, I'll sometimes ask the person about its significance.

And so it went with Carmen Trinh, a student I spotted walking along West Broadway near the Georgia Straight building.

"The tattoo says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," she said. “It seems like every time in my life when I come through a struggle, that verse keeps coming back to me. So it’s just a big part of me."

It wasn't the response that I expected, but hey, it's a free country.
