Tommy Chong headlines fundraiser for B.C. NDP leadership candidate Dana Larsen

The Vote Dana Larsen campaign takes over the Rio Theatre on Monday (March 7) with a fundraiser for the B.C. NDP leadership hopeful.

An Intimate Evening with Chong and Chong begins at 7 p.m. with a screening of a/k/a Tommy Chong, a documentary film detailing the 2003 DEA raid on Chong's house and the resulting nine-month federal prison sentence he received for selling glass paraphernalia, including bongs and pipes.

The film will be followed by a performance by Chong and his wife, Shelby, as well as a question and answer period with Tommy, Shelby, and Larsen.

Chong, who lives in B.C., endorsed Larsen's leadership bid in January.

Only 420 tickets are available for the evening, and can be purchased at Cannabis Culture Headquarters (307 W. Hastings), the Vancouver Seed Bank (872 E. Hastings), the Vancouver Medicinal Cannabis Dispensaries (880 E. Hastings and 1182 Thurlow), the T.A.G.G.S. Dispensary (11696 224th Street, Maple Ridge), or online through the Vote Dana website.

Advance tickets are $42 or grab them for $50 at the door.
