The Tragically Hip fabulously unhinged at LIVE at Squamish

The Tragically Hip are three songs deep into their set, but band mouthpiece and twisted genius Gordon Downie has already delivered a fantastically freaky performance.

Decked out in a pinstripe suit and fedora combo, he started into a funky two step and pantomime session, shaking frenetically before singing the first few bars of "Grace, Too".

They just wrapped "Bobcaygeon," which strummed by preciously, even with Downie singing the song in an especially growly, unnerved vibrato.

Gregory Adams is filing items of interest from the LIVE at Squamish festival this weekend. Tomorrow morning (August 26), look for his full review of today's show.
