Two members of the Vancouver Giants have been singled out for outstanding seasons.

Forward Craig Cunningham and defenseman Kevin Connauton were both named to the Western Hockey League's Western Conference First All-Star team Thursday morning (March 18). Cunningham, a 19-year-old from Trail, B.C., led the Giants with 97 points this season while Connauton, a 20 year old from Edmonton and a Vancouver Canuck draft pick, tied for the league-lead in scoring among defenseman with 72 points in his first go-round in the WHL after playing collegiately at Western Michigan University.

With Cunningham and Connauton providing the offensive charge, the Giants finished first in the B.C. Division of the WHL and will begin the playoffs this weekend at home against the Kamloops Blazers. March 19's series opener starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Pacific Coliseum while Game 2 is slated for 7 p.m. on March 20.
