Validation’s on the menu for frustrated Star Wars fans

It would be accurate enough to say that Star Wars creator George Lucas has garnered a lot of negative press from fans, due to his disappointing prequels, reliance on special effects and graphics, and assertion that Greedo shot first. But then again, maybe I’m just pissed that I now have to find a guy to transfer my VHS copies of the unaltered theatrical release of the original trilogy to DVDs. ‘Cause let’s face it, Lucas is never going to release those again.

Framed as a breakup song between Darth Vader and Lucas, this video parodies Gotye’s video for ”Somebody That I Used to Know”. And while I’m not a huge fan of seeing Lucas’s body double naked and covered in paint, it’s somewhat validating to see the bearded sci-fi god stripped of his power. It’s almost enough to make you feel pity, at least until you remember Jar Jar Binks. Sorry, George, not this time.
