If you’re still trying to decide what to give the foodie or cook on your list this Christmas, you may want to stop by the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive) on Saturday (December 15) where Vancouver Farmers Markets will be holding a holiday market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 17th annual seasonal celebration of food and more will feature over 85 vendors selling covering artisanal edibles, home and kitchen accessories, art, and crafts.

Some of this year’s holiday market food items Canadian-raised, grass-fed Sterling beef jerky from North Vancouver’s Black Tusk Jerky, macarons and canelé de Bordeaux by Mount Pleasant’s French Made Baking, vegetarian chutneys and samosas from Whistler’s Nidhi’s Cuisine, homemade jams and marmalades by Coquitlam’s The Jam Ladies. On the arts and crafts side, look for handmade baubles by Vancouver’s Howling Dog Artisan Jewellery, charming aprons and other textiles by Whistler’s Twig Prints, and goat-milk soaps by White Rock’s Cascadia Soap Company.

The holiday market will also include a silent auction and gift wrapping by donation. Admission to the holiday market is $3 and free for attendees 13 and under.
