Vancouver Film & TV Forum precedes VIFF

The long-awaited Vancouver International Film Festival may start tomorrow (September 25) but today is the kick-off of the 23rd annual Vancouver Film and Television Forum.

Today is Doc Day, with a series of informative sessions geared towards documentary filmmakers.

Thursday is Film Day, which conveniently ends at 5:30 so you can make the opening gala film, Blindness, should you be attending.

Friday is TV Day, to be followed on Saturday by New Filmmakers Day, for all those starting out in the business.

New Filmmakers Day will feature a session by Hellboy cinematographer Guillermo Navarro, who Ken Eisner interviewed for Movie Notes a little while back.

Check out the schedule of events to see what's happening and if there's anything of interest.
