Vancouver Whitecaps hire John Furlong as executive chair

John Furlong has a new job.

The former CEO of Vanoc—the man who oversaw the planning and preparation of the 2010 Olympics and Paralympic Games—is about to get his kicks as a top executive on Vancouver's soccer scene.

Furlong has been hired as executive chair by the Vancouver Whitecaps. In the position, Furlong takes over at the top of the soccer team's management structure and will work with President Bob Lenarduzzi and chief operating officer Rachel Lewis to lead the second-year soccer club's business operations. According to a club release, Furlong will also play an active strategic role with the Whitecaps ownership group.

WTF?

Lets see...

- Billions blown on the Owe-lympics

- Major construction Contracts tendered to those who support the Lie-berals

- Gordo's that Drunk Driver + John his enthusiastic supporter!

- Opening Day Tragedy due to DEATH of poor brave Georgian man due to repeatedly ignoring the feedback from Professionals that the track is way to dangerous and fast.

- BC Place gets a $565+ leaky Tarp Roof + Renos for the Corporate Privately owned Whitecaps to play in

- Now John is the Executive Chair, nice gig if you can get it!

Why do Tax payers get to fund a $565 Million Stadium reno? Smacks like Corporate Welfare to me which I believe is true.

Lots of Sheep seem to like this guy and his associates for all the Corporate Welfare related to the Owe-lympics.
