The second-annual Veg Fest Vancouver will be taking over Granville Street between Georgia and Robson streets on August 4 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event organized by Saving Animals Canada—a Vancouver-based nonprofit organization that promotes the vegan lifestyle—will feature vegan food vendors, vegan products, and animal protection organizations.

Some of this year’s confirmed food includes vegan burgers and sandwiches by Loving Hut Express; vegan baked goods from Edible Flours and Fairy Cakes; raw, vegan, fair-trade, and nut-free chocolates by Zimt Artisan Chocolates; organic, vegan eats from Eternal Abundance and Tao Organics; quinoa-based treats from Steveston company Quinoa 4 Life; herbal tea from Flora Health; and protein bars by the Simply Bar.

Vendors at Veg Fest Vancouver will include vegan footwear store Nice Shoes, vegan clothing and accessories label Yuko Design, and vegan skincare lines Arbonne and Beautifully Holistic. Also on-hand will be organizations such as Stop UBC Animal Research, Vancouver Rabbit Rescue, and Earthsave Canada.

The toast is burnt and the pic looks real unappetizing!

Try it before you knock it. Everything at the Loving Hut food cart is amazing with a capital A!

Looks like this event will generate a lot of garbage and waste-the down side of street food. Also the photo is really unappealing -wouldn't walk across the street to get the burnt toast & meat wanna be sandwich with soggy fries.

You are so right Cathy! I propose an outright ban on all outdoor events in this city! While we're at it, lets get rid of the food carts and basically any retail outlet that sells food to go. Goodbye 7-11. See ya later Starbucks.

I also can't believe that vegetarians only eat yam fries and grilled sandwiches! That's it? How do they do it!!??
