Vision Vancouver headquarters filling up as party supporters await poll results

Vision Vancouver headquarters are filling up following the closure of polls at 8 p.m. this evening.

Vision organizers say candidates are expected to start filtering into the ballroom at the Wall Centre once results come in. School board candidate Mike Lombardi was one of the first candidates to stop by the event.

“I feel really good, I feel energized,” he told reporters.

Park board incumbent Aaron Jasper said he's feeling "pretty optimistic".

"I’ve worked on a lot of campaigns, and this is one of the best campaigns I’ve worked on, in terms of the staff, the energy, the number of volunteers," he told the Straight.

The municipal party’s civic election slate features Gregor Robertson, seven candidates for city council, five for school board, and five for park board.

The party formed a common electoral slate with the Coalition of Progressive Electors, which is running three candidates for city council, two for park board and four for school board.
