For Clint Younge, charitable efforts don't take a back seat to everyday business.

As the CEO of MMJ Canada, a dispensary chain with shops in Vancouver, Nelson, Toronto, and Hamilton, Younge has made fundraising an important part of his company's mandate.

Since he began fundraising one year ago, he's helped the cannabis community raise more than $100,000 for different charities across the country by hosting a series of events.

On Thursday, MMJ Canada will host A Collective Care 3, a catered event at Venue Nightclub featuring a live auction and music from Bend Sinister, Scott Helman, DJ Trip Wire, and more.

"It's a very big deal for me to give back to the community," Younge told the Straight over the phone earlier today.

"This next event will be our third Collective Care, and it's getting bigger and stronger everytime."

Each event is hosted in honour of a different charity, and intends to give back to organizations in the communities where MMJ Canada has set up shop. Similar events have been hosted in Nelson, Hamilton and Toronto, but this is the first time MMJ is hosting a fundraiser in Vancouver.

MMJ Canada, Holistek, The Internet Dispensary, Toko, Aura, Eden Medicinal Society, The Village, and Sunrise Wellness will be among a group of local companies who've pledged their support for this event's beneficiary, the Carpenter Hospice.

Tickets for A Collective Care 3 are available at any of MMJ Canada's three locations (1290 East 12th Avenue, 6453 Victoria Drive, 8265 Main Street), as well as Aura, Eden Medicinal Society, The Village, and Sunrise Wellness
