Chefs serve up Vancouver’s underrated munch spots

Comments

Everyone has their favourites when it comes to restaurants, but here are few little gems that you may not have tried. Chefs that the Straight spoke with told us about some of their personal favourites and some of the most underrated places in the city to get a great meal.

Even though we received an array of answers, some restaurants got the nod more than once by chefs and restaurateurs in the know. Fine dining exists outside of Vancouver, and some are happy to head to Burnaby for the exquisite food at the Pear Tree Restaurant. A great Sunday morning brunch can be the perfect start to the day, and Crave restaurant on Main Street topped several chefs’ list. And although many would argue that it’s not underrated, Boneta’s name came up more than a few times and is definitely among the favourites.

For Greek, it's absolute insanity to line up at Stepho's. It's just not that good. Takis at 1106 Davie is just as good without the lineups. Other good places are Alexis, Kalamata, and The Main.

Have you ever seen somebody lick the chutney spoon in an Indian Restaurant and put it back? This would never have happened under the Tories.
