Headphones are available at most electronics stores, starting at about $2.99. Yeah it sucks, but that's public transit. Take a chill pill dude.

Buy some earplugs you insufferable douchebag. You know what I don't like? Reading passive-aggressive garbage on the internet. Buy some earplugs. Or, if you really feel this way and want to vent, why don't you let everyone on the bus know that you're an even worse jerk-off than the guy on the cellphone---yell at him to be quiet.

It's not called Private transit. If you don't like it pony up and buy a car. Having a conversation on the phone is the exact same as chatting to the person next to you. Sounds like you are really upset over something else here.

Here's a proven antidote - next time just stand right next to them and talk loudly so the person they are talking to can hear you as well. Ask the person a bunch of stupid questions. Hey, if they hae the right to be douchebags, prove to them just how douchey they are.

Same goes for elevators. I mean, who in the right mind will talk on the phone while in an elevator with other people!?

If I must use my phone on the bus, I text. I have it on vibrate because I want to respect the other people on the bus who aren't on the phone or blaring their music (so few these days). It's not the same as a regular conversation, because people talk loud when using a cell phone. I don't care how your date went last night, or hearing you say "Like, Like Like" 89 times in a 5 minute conversation.
