I confess

The main reason that I'm single and don't have many friends is that I'm afraid people would make me feel bad about who I am. I need to build confidence and self-esteem before I can open up to others.

There is nothing bad or wrong about who you are. A starting point is to know that everyone has hang-ups about themselves - even the people you think have no reason to. I'm very doubtful that most others' reception of you would be as negative as you predict. Treat yourself respectfully and try to outwardly behave like a person who truly likes him or herself. This may feel inaccurate given how you tell us you inwardly feel, but it will likely have an overall positive effect on your self-image. Remember that you are important and worthwhile. If there is something about you that you are ashamed of, you'd probably be surprised to learn that others will nevertheless accept you. If this is the case, why not post separately about this? Ignore the one-line remarks and pay attention to genuine and thoughtful responses. People, at least worthwhile people, value things like honesty, kindness and integrity - features which may animate you or anyone, regardless of superficial flaws.

shit ya! I am so strange and awkward, but we all are, don't try to hide it anymore...think of the last time when you felt so free, so happy, now let that take you away...into yourself...don't try and match the clones of todays world...be different, thats who you're meant to be...
