Two Seats

Whenever I go on a bus or skytrain, even if there are plenty of seats I always target the person who has their bag on the seat next to them, and sit with them. Or when they are sitting on the outer seat on a bus. They have no right over two seats. It makes me feel big.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who take two seats on a crowded train or bus - so entitled!

Wouldn't you also love to grab them by the neck and throw them to the floor?

I love doing that

I'm 6'5" and I walk right up to the same loser, pick up their bag, plop it in their lap and sit down. All with a huge smile and a thanks. Then I promptly get up and give it to the first elderly person I see or a woman. The old folks always sit down but the younger girls don't because facebook is too important to update so they never see what happens. I can only guess they are updating with thoughts about the the lack of chivalry....

@ wally.

Violence ?? really. Real men use their mind to beat down dumb asses, my pipes are for my little lady to hang off like a jungle jim.

Love it

I love it all, except that it makes you feel big. That means you have a small dick. It should make you feel good and maybe a little self righteous, but big? not.

The bag on the seat, there is usually noone on the bus to warrant me to move it immediately, but I have no problem doing so when I see the bus filling up or when asked polietly if I havent noticed you eyeing up the seat. Same goes for sitting on the outside seat. I may have to get off shortly and dont want my crotch/bum/wacking my bag in your face as I try to shimmy passed you to get off the bus. But ask and I will move for you. Hell, you could even just point.
I know its seen as a dick move but sometimes, surprisingly, people are not out to be dicks and all you have to do is ask nicely.

After reading the Translink Harassment blog, I have more sympathy for outside-seat sitters. They may just be trying to avoid being boxed in by potential pervs. As for bags, yes, sometimes if one is juggling a bulky backpack a bunch of shopping, purse, etc., why not use the empty seat? If you ask politely, or even just make a motion to sit down, most people will probably gather up their things to make room. Or if you're one of those personal space hogs who just has to sit with his legs wide open, I'll gladly move elsewhere to avoid getting squashed by your entitlement.

I sorta do the same thing! I give them a warning with eye contact and keep moving in. But usually when it's already pretty full, otherwise leave 'em alone.

Sure people can ask, but they shouldn't have to. You need to also be aware of your surroundings anyway. You acknowledging the fact that it is a dick move tells me that you don't particularly appreciate people doing the pointing to you when you have your bag sprawled all about. Your response seems rather defensive. I wonder why.
