I second that. I posted a confession few months ago about leaving my wife who was unfaithful at one point. His advice made me see things from a different perspective. I am actually still working on repairing my marriage. Thanks RUK.

I have to agree. I am so grateful to the wisdom of RUK. We are lucky to have such amazing, lovely people in our town. Thank you!! I am in a few quandaries at this time and RUK is the best therapy. Shine on.

Was gratified by RUK's admission,to me, (in a post) that he "used to be a dick," but decided that he would rather share his wisdom and empathy in a more productive way. Kudos to you RUK. There is already too much negativity in the world. Well done for viewing things on the brightside.
I send this with my best wishes

Non Controversial
When you write non controversial, mainly agreeable posts, it's easy to be popular. The question is, do such posts require much thought?

@non controversial
So it's better to tell someone off when they are brave enough to admit that they screwed up? If you are sitting at a bar and you look to your left and right and see no one that you know there is a reason why.

No, it's better to take a risk with with your thought processes, and not just be pandering.

Crank
Weeks ago I had written a post especially for RUK but it never made it through the cutting room floor. I'm glad this one came through so that I can also post my appreciation for RUK. RUK, who are you? Can you hold a function at a coffee shop (somewhat similar to a book signing) so we can meet you? :)

R U Kiddingme? That's my real name. Well, no, but I have to have an anonymous handle because of work reasons. Alas. I would rather be writing about random topics for a living. This has been good practice at the very least.

Thanks for the thanks and also for the arguments. I sometimes give advice but I am mostly here to learn about issues and people in this city by asking questions or examining things more closely. The interactivity of this site is a real bonus.

I often think I post too much but am happy some of you are ok with it. I also have my favourite posters in these comments sections too!

Miranda, I actually met you once.

You're a shrink aren't you? You should make the GS pay you $150 an hour. I love your posts too. It's so nice to see someone with common sense. I'm around such little of it all day, every day.

Funny...
I find RUK's comments banal and only mildy insightful. Probably a super nice guy though
