you can thumb down, but don't hate me!

I love confessions and here's one that I think may be controversial. Before I begin, my disclaimer is I don't hate animals or those who have animals. So I've seen people with their dogs and know people with dogs who do what is normal to do, walk the dogs and pick up their poop. But I wonder how that is sanitary to then bring your dog back into your car and your home without having wiped their butt? I don't know of humans that go poop and not wipe or wash their butt. I get it - OK, animals are different. But I wonder to myself, do you care that the dog sitting on your carpet or couch may leave slight skid marks? Is that sanitary? Granted, I am not a dog person or any kind of animal person, but I sit and think to myself and I confess, I think its dirty. Nothing against dog owners or any other kind of animal owner. I guess I ask why is it fine to let a dog wipe is butt that may still contains traces of poop on your floor, furniture, carpet, car, etc as opposed to you feeling grossed out when you've stepped in doggie doodoo and you wipe your shoes clean of it before you even walk into your house? Yes, I confess I'm not that kind of understanding because I'm not an animal person. Someone want to chime in? I can feel the heat coming on now. Sorry!

Uhhh it's nasty, that's why i don't own a dog. I don't mind them, but exactly like you said and we all know humans and the public. I can guarantee most aren't cleaning things properly. And to the first person who commented, our mouths are full of bacteria so we can SURVIVE as a race, omg that has nothing to do with a little poop like you say. So gross, probably a chick saying that too who owns a dog. Totally differnt scenarios, sigh at the public.

Loved reading this. I've been going on about this for decades.

I think you are eaxctly right -

- dogs takes a shit
- dog walks away with the shitty asshole
- dog sits on your lap/couch/bed/car seat...
- dog shit ends up on your clothes/hands/on the kids
- someone gets really fkn ill

The other consideration is this -

There is, of course, a load of dog shit 'smear' left on the grass after a well intentioned owner picks up. If you could take a shitometer and scan the grass surface of a typical dog friendly park - well, guess what!? All those nice picnic blankets and towels and bare feet and children rolling through the grass are coated in feces bacteria that infests lawn.

I personally stay off grass as much as i reasonably can. I sure as hell wouldn't ever lie on any public lawn to eat, make out, play frizbee...

Dog owners and their homes are in fact fecal factories!

calls all dogs hairy turd sacks or hairy sacks of shit. We never had one. He works with people's eyes. I'm grateful as I'm so not a dog person. You are right!! Fucking gross!

and a shocker in all this is that some people let those same dirty dogs lick them. those dogs/animals that have licked their own 'parts' and then lick their owners faces, hands etc. and the owners want my kids to be licked by these filty beasts?!? that is my definition of disguising!!!
keep your creatures to yourself.

Dogs are vermin and people with dogs are idiots with diminished ability to interact with other people!

I hose down and wipe my dog's butt (I wear rubber gloves) after he does his business in the backyard. He gets the bidet treatment and I don't even have one in my bathroom. I also wash his paws before I let him back in the house.

I had no idea so many people thought the same way and to the poster on picnic baskets and nice towels, I never thought about that before. Thanks for the comments, I like talking about this more than talking about the lady who's dating a married man.
